When There Is No Holiday Cheer

Lord, as each holiday grows near
Many are filled with apprehension,
When some families are filled with joy in their heart
Other families are filled with tension.

For you see the devil loves to bring unrest
To tear every family apart,
He's been doing that from the very beginning
Spreading hate with every dart.

He attacks every marraige and every single family
With the goal to destroy everything,
And he will indeed if you don't keep praying
To the Lord for the healing He can bring.

Don't let the lonlines, the hurt, the pain
Destroy God's light in you,
Don't ever let anyone steal your joy
Is the number one thing you MUST do.

Holidays are not meant bring you down
Spread love in all that you do,
Give God all of your emotional pain
And He will see you through.

We have no control over family disputes
Or how long it will take to heal,
The only thing that we know for sure
Is God's healing power is real.

So Lord, I pray for marriages and families
Who have no holiday cheer,
Help them remember that through it all
Your love is always here.
