Lord, I Must Remember

Lord, I MUST remember
To keep my mind on You
For looking at the world and all the chaos
Is the worst thing I can do.
I know better than to give the devil power
He has no hold on me,
Unless I look away from You
And allow him to come after me.

Lord, I MUST remember
The authority you've given me,
The authority to walk in victory
Over ALL adversity.
Why do I always put myself
Through all the stress and strain,
I know Your Word has the power I need
But I keep giving in to the pain.

Lord, I MUST remember
It's the choices that I make,
It's O so easy to put the blame on You,
When my lack of trust is the mistake.
Lord, I MUST remember
To rebuke the devil's lies,
I MUST remember to give it ALL to You
For You ALWAYS here my cries. 

Lord, I MUST remember
To stop trying to do Your job, 
There's NOTHING I can do here on my own
Or else my joy the devil will rob.
Lord, I MUST remember
To use my authority,
Or else I am wasting the very gift
You've given me to set me free.

And so I pray each and every day
For help to stay focused on You,
My flesh is weak but it's You I seek
And trust You will see me through.
Please forgive me for all the times
I was weak and didn't trust You,
For once I have learned to let it ALL go
I will gain my strength from You.
