    The Power of Doubt
    No matter how positive your thoughts
    Watch out for those who doubt.
    It only takes a few negative seeds
    Now you’re fighting to keep them out.
    Negative thoughts like “can’t”, “never”
    “I’m no good”, “I’ll try”,
    Rob you of your will to succeed
    And you won’t even know why.
    Negative words give power to doubt
    They’ll drain your very life.
    Things will never seem to go right
    And cause you plenty of strife.
    The good news is you CAN change words
    You can turn your life around.
    Without the negative words of doubt
    Your dreams are safe and sound.

    This is true. It's not that we haven't faith but we sometimes doubt that we matter enough to receive God's blessings. Great practical poem.

    I liked the way you ended this poem on a positive note letting those of us who doubt know that we can change our lives without negative thoughts consuming us.

    Thanks for your comment. You are so right. It is amazing how a single negative thought can wipe out several positive thoughts because of the power we give them.

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
