Backstabbers
Don’t smile in my face like you’re my friend
Then lie behind my back.
Don’t come to me like you’re praising my work
Really thinking that’s what I lack.
You really must think I was born yesterday
Not to see through all you do.
It grates my nerves to the very core
To see others trusting you.
Acting like you believe in God
Like your spirit is oh so clean.
I see right through that act of yours
I know you’re really mean.
Don’t stand in my face saying, “Praise the Lord”
If you don’t mean a word you say.
I’d rather you be just who you are
Than playing that game you play.
Conniving and hiding, gossiping and lying
Backstabbers do it all.
Not caring who’s hurt along the way
But one day they will fall.
