A Poetic Prayer of Commitment

Lord, I seek more time with You
What I'm doing is NOT my best,
The best I have I owe to You
I always want to pass Your test.

Lord, I seek a closer walk
With You each and every day,
For in that walk I always know
You'll guide me along the way.

Oh Lord, I seek to be more attentive
To ALL You ask me to do,
Please forgive my disobedience
Any time I didn't follow you.

Lord, I commit to "stand still" each time
The Holy Spirit speaks to me,
For I know without a shadow of a doubt
He knows where I'm supposed to be.

Forgive me for every time I've slipped
And took my eyes off You,
For You are the key to my victory
You always see me through.

Lord, strengthen me to control
Any sinful thought that slips within,
"Be in the world but not of the world"
Is the ONLY way I will win.

Devil, you've got NO HOLD on me
Through Christ I've already won,
I can't wait until Judgement Day
When it's you whose on the run.

I thank you, Lord, for saving me
For every time that you came through,
That's why I'm here on bended knees
My life I give to You.
