Stressful Times in the Era of Trump
He came on he scene with reckless abandon
Upsetting all who were in his path,
We really didn't think he's win the election
Especially after doing the math.
Some so sure that he'd never win
Didn't bother to show up to vote,
But with that blunder Trump stepped right in
And left many trying to clear their throat.
Protests, marches and even aggression
Soon followed as he was sworn in,
He wasted no time making sure we all knew
A new era was about to begin.
That was for sure – things surely did change
Overnight from good to bad,
Within a few days he set a new height
The worst president we've ever had.
Obama was out after eight great years
America had made a stand,
Ben Laden now gone made us feel more safe
And that made us proud of the man.
But now that's gone and the new regime
Is determined to change everything,
With knee-jerk decisions causing much division
And all the chaos his choices did bring.
Don't know where we're headed if things don't change
In just a week we've gone back in time,
To a country divided by the stroke of a pin
Will we survive if it doesn't all end?
One thing we learned from this painful transition
Vote no matter who you think will win,
Every vote does matter when you stop and take time
Else next term we'll be in trouble yet again.
