A Night of Terror
Heartbeat pounding, breathing real fast
Out of my mind with fear,
Hearing strange noises in the night
I feel a presence is near.
Feeling the chills, the temperature drops
Don’t know where I can run,
Quaking, shaking, sound of twigs breaking
I’m house from the rising sun.
Steps growing closer with a heavy thud
The unseen source unknown,
Is this thing getting close to me
Or just my fear that’s grown.
I quickened my pace, that’s for sure
Is what’s following me really real?
All I know is the terror I felt
The whole night felt surreal.
I awoke the next day in a grassy field
Not single sound heard – all alone,
Somehow I knew in the back of my mind
Whatever it was wasn’t gone.
I ran for my life as fast as I could
To a town not far away,
But no one lived from the creatures attack
So I feel very blessed today.
