    The Power of the Mind


    You can let it go wild – go where ever it wants

    Or guide it all the way,

    It’ll let you do nothing all your life

    It depends on what you say.

     

    The words you speak open up the door

    To the power of the mind,

    Shaped by words either good or bad

    It’s up to you which kind.

     

    Like a movie your mind can freeze in time

    Your thoughts, your goals, your dream,

    It can help you make it to the top

    No matter how hard it seems.

     

    Like a canvas waiting for the painter’s smoke

    For the painting to come to life,

    It’s when we don’t give the mind any thoughts

    That can set you up for strife.

     

    So protect your thought and what you hear

    The gateway to your soul,

    The kinds of words your mind will use

    Is all in your control.

    Interesting, the limits and backlashes of the will. How confused I get sometimes when wondering if i am controlling or just being controlled. As the poems shows, the mind is beautiful. Like a bottomless pit of things to be discovered. Enjoyed the read.

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
