What Visits You At Night?

Do you go to sleep with the TV on
Or fall asleep while reading the Word,
Not knowing that what you'll dream about
Is the last thing that you heard.

Your body & your conscious mind
Must always get their rest,
But your spirit and subconscious mind
Many times is put to the test.

For your spirit and subconscious mind
Never needs to go to sleep,
That's why you "lay me down to sleep
And pray the Lord my soul to keep."

What's busy at night while you're asleep
While you're tucked away in your bed,
Is the TV showing violence and death
And that's being planted in your head.

For you see we MUST protect our spirit
Whether wide awake or asleep,
Do you wake up feeling energized
Or filled with thoughts so deep.

So guard your spirit in EVERY way
You only want to let the Word in,
You'll be so rested and filled with praise
And ready for the new day to begin.
