The Gossiping Tongue
Why do people like to run their mouth
When they really don't know the deal,
They love to say everything they know
When they really don't know what's real.
Trying to see who's talking to who.
Is there a relationship in the mix?
The gossiping tongue that goes on and on
Soon finds themselves in a fix.
Don't dare tell them they're way off course
As they run their mouth each day,
The less they know it really shows
Now they're the latest news out today.
Some people gossip with venomous intent
Knowing everything they say will hurt,
They have no conscious - their mouth goes on
Spewing out all kinds of dirt.
Lord, touch these folks who gossip so much
Whose words cause so much pain,
Teach them how the words they speak
Will come back on them time again.
