Defeat, I Call You Out!

Defeat, I call you out right now
You've held me back too long,
My faith through Christ has made me see
In my life you DON'T belong.

You keep telling me what I can't do
"I'll never go far in life,"
But now "Get thee behind me, Satan!" Go NOW!
I'm through with pain and strife.

You thought you had me where you wanted me
Striping my goals and dreams,
I almost listened to all your lies
Then I realized it's NOT what it seems.

Now my Lord has given me strength
To achieve what He has for me,
Your lies were pulling me in the wrong direction
But through Christ I finally see.

I truly see the lies, deceit
Destruction that's all around,
But a new revelation has opened my eyes
You're trying to bring me down.

But now I know just who I am
Through Christ I truly see,
You need me to choose to look at you
To have any kind of hold on me.

So back up defeat!  Get out of my way!
I evict you from my mind,
I now walk boldly with Christ in my life
In victory of EVERY kind.
