Dust to Dust
Just one comment
tossed by the wayside
now they don't know you
Time to disown
It was only a joke
do you remember
when people conversed this way?
not stuck in a snow bank
in the heart of some December
Time changes everything
apparently so does isolation
more in tune with this midnight gloom
static charges spark this room
Hey you,
only a million miles away
read like a book
written in French,
just poetry on a page
Not impressed
with the lame miserable
though it may be fashionable
even sheep can be dazzled
Grieving caused the gray
colored dye washed it away
a silent promise
encouraged the weight loss
this broken family
the figurine on the cross
Jesus, though I've really tried
this scene is completely trite
often hated and misunderstood
always making some surreal point
standing behind these potent words
Judge a moments' indiscretion
childhood has long since past
should be put to rest at last
Dust to dust,
like this crumbling trust
Foundation is no longer
