Atmosphere
Avoiding me like the plague
the one they unfortunately made
with this chilly atmosphere
in this cardboard home
shut the bedroom door
I feel the need to be alone
While tempers flare
in a room upstairs
well sometimes,
life just isn't fair
Tending to go with my gut instinct
rationality has gone in a blink
he hates me
so she follows along
this is heterosexual love
guess we can't get along
Do you really want to carry this baby
all the way to full term?
It’s too late for 'well maybes'
guess they will never learn
what a perfect opportunity
to break this cycle of hate
instead of planting seeds
giving in to such archaic needs
Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed
He sees this as his way in
I see it as regurgitated sin
can't blame this on Adam or Eve
for they were so pure
and this pathetic charade just reeks
How can you say you are in love?
when there is no chemistry
or electricity?
or pheromones or sickly sweet calls
nor declarations of brazen love
written in magic marker on the walls?
Yet you look at me
like I'm vile with disease
going to maim your children
put them out on the streets
Exactly where do you get these notions?
from some twisted 'R' movie
playing on cable late at night?
You have known me
for your entire life
now suddenly I don't know you anymore
breathing in this tainted atmosphere
in this mockery of a home
behind a locked bedroom door
where I stand alone...
