My Heart Smiles For You
My heart smiles for you
like a new born baby,
opening his eyes for the very first time
Like the view from a moving car,
on a summer day,
when the hazy heat is reflecting
off the shimmering horizon
Even in the darkest hour,
when the wolves are scratching at the door
as you sit and cower,
pulling a blanket over your head
These amorous feelings
wash over me,
chasing away the ugliness,
grinding it all to dust,
beneath these steel toe boots
All for you,
unfathomable to me,
yet somehow,
found each other
in a world gone crazy
