Sea of Doubt
Tell me when I start to feel
this part of life
has become Unreal
conversations overturned
cards on the table
left to burn
Dancing through the acrid smoke
hand in hand with failed hope
Giving lectures that I can't cope
but you're the one, tightening the rope
Surrounded by walls of brick
with an atmosphere laid on thick
talking frantically on the phone
so you won't feel quite alone
it only took twenty four hours
for you to crush this man
by alienation and indifference
straddling this limbo
unsure of which way the wind blows
the fire has gone out
celebrating this emptiness,
a vast, crashing sea of doubt
