Unwind
Gushing words from fluctuating hearts
should this world fail to blow apart
then its 'never mind dear',
scrambling back to the start
Need you now
then a mood swing takes over
starting to wonder exactly how
this repertoire makes one older
Back and forth
faster and faster
waited far too long
this world stumbles in closer
Stuck in some low paying job
barely a roof over this head
riding city buses
inwardly feeling disconnected
Possessions locked away in boxes
mechanical hardware failures
dust settles over everything
even the howling dogs have turned away
Staring into this mirror
horrified by the laugh lines
wondering when I found the time
to ever seriously unwind
