Throwing Caution
I said hello,
in my charming little way
He replied:
'Long time no see'
That was it.
Iron door slammed shut
the wall is miles high
skies have opened up
and pissed all over me
He has his own friends now
I'm not really part of life anymore
feeling more alone than ever before
It's hard enough being humanity's scourge
finding their rationality quite absurd
keep on being the same 'me'
though I'm not quite sure
exactly what that might be?
Used to be some pathetic chameleon
always changing skins
just to fit in
But now the skins are too tight
and I'd rather be naked and exposed
just to break up its hold
Celebrating another gray strand
no one honest enough to hold this hand
wondering what happened to my life's plan?
throwing caution to the wind
or flushing toilets again?
