He said he'd call the next day
now 30 days have come and gone
if this was another life test
just got rid of another pest

Promises are all I've ever heard
borderline strange to the really absurd
never thought I needed
to actually get in the last word
but I sincerely did
before the roof caves in

How can people go through life
treading boldly through man made strife?
killing the one thing that was pure and sincere
well guess I'll try again sometime next year

So I sit in wonder
while the world marches on
indifferent and old
writing yet another poem

Until the next one
with brilliantly prepared lines
tries to sparkle and shine
whine and blind
to be finished and done
then it's on to the next one...
