You Who Step In Shadows
Where Wolves gather
Song paints the moon's claim,
Much like elastic laughter
Erupting from the dank dens
Of newly dug graves.
Howls of madness send word saying,
'Watch closely you who step in shadow.
You who by the sent of blood
Found this strange pack
Over this fresh carcass.
You who indulge in fresh flesh
Torn from broken bones
With your now eager teeth.'
Here young cubs dance and frolic
Seemingly in ritual circles,
Sending curses, collecting chaos.
Innocence of age is humbled
By the hunt and hunger
The search and wonder,
For things as ancient
As necessities' evil.
A hysteric cry of fear amid quiet
Ravages far into the forest night
That sends word saying,
Song paints the moon's claim,
Much like elastic laughter
Erupting from the dank dens
Of newly dug graves.
Howls of madness send word saying,
'Watch closely you who step in shadow.
You who by the sent of blood
Found this strange pack
Over this fresh carcass.
You who indulge in fresh flesh
Torn from broken bones
With your now eager teeth.'
Here young cubs dance and frolic
Seemingly in ritual circles,
Sending curses, collecting chaos.
Innocence of age is humbled
By the hunt and hunger
The search and wonder,
For things as ancient
As necessities' evil.
A hysteric cry of fear amid quiet
Ravages far into the forest night
That sends word saying,
'Watch closely you who step in shadow.'
