The Sky Is Clear
Today the sky is clear and bright torques.
A small daisy colored butterfly loops by me.
A lone hawk overhead casts
Down his lazy circling shadow.
Wild roses, clover, and sunflowers,
Proudly throw there scent about the air.
In the near distance I hear children
Shout, laugh and chase one another.
The warm late summer weather
Fits like a comfortable, loose garment.
A breeze whispers softly against my skin
As I sit in my outdoor armchair purveying
The simple rolling jade swards
Outlined with wild unmanicured bramble.
For a time I almost forget
My stark and violent struggles.
A small daisy colored butterfly loops by me.
A lone hawk overhead casts
Down his lazy circling shadow.
Wild roses, clover, and sunflowers,
Proudly throw there scent about the air.
In the near distance I hear children
Shout, laugh and chase one another.
The warm late summer weather
Fits like a comfortable, loose garment.
A breeze whispers softly against my skin
As I sit in my outdoor armchair purveying
The simple rolling jade swards
Outlined with wild unmanicured bramble.
For a time I almost forget
My stark and violent struggles.
