    Poem Commentary

       I wrote this in 2000 to my ex=wife as a devotioal poem while stationed away from here for a year in Korea. It became like most of my work part of a larger context.

    If Ever

     1
    If ever was unspoken a word,
    Spell cast, then broken,
    If ever has wept a queen,
    Crownless and beautiful,
    If ever there could be
    That which was lost or stolen
    Made whole or hailed forth,
    May it be now.
    So mote it be.

    Sow in the wild seed
    The measure of laying faro.
    Take root and fasten tight,
    To stand strong against
    A clamoring cold wind;
    The dance of dark change.

    3
    Strangers among us fall
    On sharpened swords,
    In chance to reunite
    With the unattainable;
    A gift as a final endeavor.
    This is the burden of Cain,
    Born of Beltane's season,
    That which wills the way
    And winds the time.
