I Am Awake, I Am Alive
By: Keane WrenI am awake, I am alive
Grateful for every breath
In and out of this body.
My blood is moved by mysticism
While my mind marvels at the mysteries
Written in ancient Mesopotamia
Or the constellation stories
Mapped out in the stars.
I feel an invitation to rise
Past my unseen origins.
An urgent engendering
Springs from The Eternal source,
To shake this human grain
From its hollow hull,
To embrace the wisdom of the wheat
As I shed my lesser chaff.
