    Poem Commentary

      I wrote this in the fall of 1992 about seven months before I would confront the Midwest Flood of July 1993. When this storm came it was true to these verses in that I had a thriving Restaraunt/Organic Coffee Shop named "Whole PLanet Cafe", in Des Moines, Iowa.

    Into The Twilight
    Into the twilight
    Devouring the day
    With an awesome hunger.

    Into the thunderstorm
    Clamoring the sky
    With a terrible anger.

    Into the floodgates
    Engulfing the roads
    With a tempest swagger.

    Into the destruction
    Condemning the night
    With a resolute laughter.

    Beautiful flow with your interesting rhyme in this most emotional work. I loved the last line. It is strong and bold - much like a thunderstorm. Imagery is nicely done in this. ~Pamela
