The Secret Fire
The keeper of the wise ways
Makes not light of its eminence,
For it is bore from the handmaiden
And crafted on the hollowed hearth.
Earth errs not in chance, or choice,
When calling her children forth,
To bear fully, this life's burdens.
Here the finite stretches on into eternity.
The chosen must not delay in despair.
The time to act is here at hand.
Therefore greet this task in eagerness,
With an earnest, and honest heart in truth.
By the law of love, does love become law
Whereby mercies might become
The means for mending;
Loves manifest made known.
So let thine will reign out over mine will.
Make us new again in the holy name.
Take away our misdeeds
And mistaken mired paths.
Make the noise of our past
Altogether mute.
The way is never easy once enacted,
Still given to the wild wheel of fate.
Take comfort, for this life is kindle in kind,
As fuel in the firmament's furnace.
Here is forged, the Secret Fire.
Makes not light of its eminence,
For it is bore from the handmaiden
And crafted on the hollowed hearth.
Earth errs not in chance, or choice,
When calling her children forth,
To bear fully, this life's burdens.
Here the finite stretches on into eternity.
The chosen must not delay in despair.
The time to act is here at hand.
Therefore greet this task in eagerness,
With an earnest, and honest heart in truth.
By the law of love, does love become law
Whereby mercies might become
The means for mending;
