A Flicker Unto The Flame
I light this fire that burns
A thousand lifetimes to cinder,
So that they might rise onward
To the Four winds, past the Watchtowers,
Out, up, and beyond.
Any and all constrictions are,
Blown back to the sentient source.
Free of the me, the I, the ego,
Into the thee, the thou, the omniscient.
How ugly and impure I must appear
Clothed in this human garment.
This flesh is kindle for the fire
That cleans what might cleave
To this sacrosanct form,
Unworthy from every abomination.
Let loose then the true bird of paradise
That clamors to be set free.
Open its confined cage,
To then fly high,
And yet higher still;
Icarus's return, a moth
Burning brightly into the Sun,
A flicker unto the flame.
A thousand lifetimes to cinder,
So that they might rise onward
To the Four winds, past the Watchtowers,
Out, up, and beyond.
Any and all constrictions are,
Blown back to the sentient source.
Free of the me, the I, the ego,
Into the thee, the thou, the omniscient.
How ugly and impure I must appear
Clothed in this human garment.
This flesh is kindle for the fire
That cleans what might cleave
To this sacrosanct form,
Unworthy from every abomination.
Let loose then the true bird of paradise
That clamors to be set free.
Open its confined cage,
To then fly high,
And yet higher still;
Icarus's return, a moth
Burning brightly into the Sun,
A flicker unto the flame.
