Youthful Grace
True friendship--rare as a diamond, more beautiful than a rainbowInnocence of youth, so grand, yet unmistakable,
flittering, fluttering, wings of down unflappable;
rocky, jagged, yet smooth as a baby's face,
so subtle and sure--you're youthful grace.
An eaglet now, powerful and noble tomorrow,
jet streams lift today, yours to borrow;
a tangerine sunrise turns a piercing blue sky,
wonders of God, not yet knowing why.
Soaring, dancing, the wind and wolf your friend,
a long, lofty flight, a day without end;
greet them joyful as you go,
so familiar, seeds you sow.
Returning to the nest, settled in your place,
remembering your adventures--your youthful grace;
brooding a new aerie, giving the world more,
over their own oceans, your fledglings majestically soar.
