Shadows by Night
Ugliness of dreams at night,
becomes harmless in daylight.
By night, shadows grow short,
light of day, they get so long,
why then do we fright,
from small squeaks at night.
In darkness our shadows melt,
never quite sure, who’s is who’s,
sinister as we can conceive,
it’s only crazy make believe.
Rest your weary head now,
dream like never before,
sleep silent angel, go to sleep
let heaven, safely keep.
Rid yourself, such foolish thoughts,
tomorrow’s worries are enough,
revel in God’s goodness, delight,
never worry, over shadows by night.
