Their Tree
Castle walls protruding high in the sky,
tickling tails of storm clouds, yet tame,
towering taller than cypress or rewood,
shadows cast down from their stout frame.
Eyes like a drive-in's silk screen,
providing her a panoramic view at life,
fear does not visit, while in his midst,
harmony knows her, casting off strife.
Might greater than gravity,
his will could not cure,
like pages written by Frost,
a memory that is so pure.
Smiles bring life to her once more,
tis' her laughter I miss,
joy of hitting home runs, scoring goals,
or just sharing in that first kiss.
Beyond bounds, thicker than blood,
a love stronger than an old birch tree
for her eulogy, a favorite by Frost,
a wood box held what was left of me.
