Button Beach
On beaches there’s sand,
my heart held by your hand,
with buttons, your blouse adorn,
you’re gone, I’m forlorn.
Grains lie on the beach,
for you my heart can’t reach,
what wrong did I do,
now keeps me from you.
On beaches I walk,
to you and God, I talk,
a lengthy stretch, miles long,
wonder, wonder, what went wrong.
Glass, stone, drift wood,
these things I understood,
faith, hope, charity,
gave in to such a calamity.
God promises peace, joy,
for us He gave a boy,
on the beach I smile, sit,
revel in Father’s wit.
God is good, He is great,
to Him I pray, on Him I wait,
He is faith, hope, love,
I cling to His promise of…
…on Button Beach.
