Broken - Evermore
© 2011 Randolph D Brown Jr
Window pane,
ball busted through,
chimney fire,
smoke billows from the flue.
Bicycle chain,
boys cheek holds a tear,
little girl,
heart full of fear.
Lives changed,
futures cracked, damaged,
emotions hard to hold,
harder to manage.
Baby’s cry,
silence now gone,
sunrise on the horizon,
greet a new dawn.
A babe away
in a manger,
Christ hangs on a cross,
our only savior.
Seal broken,
out comes a revelation,
rider on a horse,
compassion in motion.
All tattered,
rider upon the tack,
years in the saddle,
no broken back.
Dreams shattered,
left there on the floor,
Be God’s,
He’ll love you evermore.
