New Raye (of Hope)
Walking away, he stopped and turned,
into the pages of his mind she burned.
Her sweet smile brightened a new moon night,
words from her lips made everything right.
His world stopped when she walked out,
she brought so much joy, there's no doubt.
Away she's gone, living another life,
with only peace and love, no strife.
Into God's hand she's committed to stay,
at sunrise you see her, she's the new ray.
Reminders surround him, giving hope,
through the storms of life, helping him cope.
How he longs to caress her long flowing hair,
to hold her, to touch her, to kiss her, does he dare.
No phone line long enough to get him there;
only one way he knows now--unceasing prayer.
He wakes again and opens his eyes,
then asks God about the where's, the when's, the why's.
His answer gets him through the day,
God simply says, "She's my (your) new Raye (of hope)."
