Sanctuary in My Dream
© 2011 Randolph D Brown Jr
There’s a place I go,
where no one else could know,
snowflakes so brilliant bright,
squeezing my eyes so very tight;
to distant lands I travel,
amazing, majestic wonders I marvel,
could this really, truly be,
or just my imagined reality.
When falling all around
maddening, hitting the ground,
wet liquid, resembles rain,
feels more like abysmal pain;
why then, do I not fear,
could be, cause he’s near,
a sanctuary in my dream,
to me, so real, I made it seem.
Floating high, soft white cloud,
sounds muffled, not loud,
never a scratch, break, nor tear,
no evil in the dark to fear;
faraway lands, seas, white shore,
seeing forever, seeing much more,
for hours upon hours, pure peace,
desperately wishing, no cease.
This place I go, when I need,
to God in heaven, I do plead,
harmony, solace, most I seek,
make me humble and meek;
mold me, shape me into the man,
for your glory, do all that I can.
