Chorus of Crickets (A Love Knot Song)
Tis' very late, should be hittin' the hay,
instead I am outside, I just got to say -
"what a beautiful choir, off in the thickets,
He made them too, it's a choir of crickets."
I've so enjoyed our talks, we had a good run,
times we spent together, certainly was fun.
Uncertainty and desire, has me on a string,
believe you me, tis' not a one-time fling.
As this chapter in our lives draws to an end,
the prayer of my heart - to be your friend.
No harm do I wish for you, only peace, love, and joy,
I see these on your face, I hear them from your boy.
Go your own way - live, love, and learn,
I'll do the same, waitin' for my turn.
I've stood her long, my feet are stone cold,
tears spill over, no eyelid can hold.
The crickets are quiet, the moon has set,
no bride in the forecast, least not yet...
oh, but wait, yes - you're welcome here - Jesus,
you missed the crickets - maybe they'll play again, for us.
