Gabriel’s Great News
Upon the water He walks,
to prince and pauper He talks,
you and I are His chosen,
no, the water is not frozen.
Born of a virgin, in a stable,
the reason, for those unable,
with ox and ass, in a manger,
fear not, He’s refuge from danger.
A baby boy, exposed to cold,
with arms enfolds, his hands hold,
a star burned so very bright,
brought the world great delight.
Gifts of spice and perfume,
humans know how to consume,
what to give to mankind,
God’s gift, no one seemed to mind.
A babe to save you, and me,
He is the Christ, yes thee,
one day He’d die,
that day we’d surely cry.
For now, we are amazed,
bovines watch, chewing hay,
King Herod does as he pleases,
one day to have the savior, Jesus.
Rejoice, fear not,
Gabriel delivers, all he’s got,
news of great joy,
in a manger lies a baby boy.
