A Poet's Thought
Repeatedly I sit and write down words,
I know not why,
to emphasize a point,
giving it one more try;
writing words of nature, philosophy,
love, and such,
to those who read and wonder,
the meaning's not much.
Attempting to make a stand,
to get a point across,
so many minds are,
at a total loss;
in time I shall grow, learn,
and mature,
like an infant, a plant,
and all nature.
Take the time to listen, learn,
and understand,
never hesitate to reach,
for the promised land;
if the end of this poem is not reached,
close the cover, if you will,
while I search for another thought,
gazing out, leaning on the window sill…
…a thought of a poet.
