Words
Dedication – To my sister
Ripples interrupt the placid reflection,
gently imprinting themselves on the shore,
like the words from your lips,
on my life, forevermore.
Cast off into the stillness quick,
a feather wafting on a gentle breeze,
I can hear you now,
repeat, if you please.
You are building castle walls,
a fortress, if you will,
kindness and mercy falling all around,
as you stand there, so very still.
Like an arrow shot from somewhere afar,
your words pierce me deep, and through,
ready to face the world head on,
failures become successes; anew.
Simply you say, with but a whisper,
causing Heaven and Earth to leap,
I can hardly utter a sentence,
but manage merely a peep.
How do I give proper thanks,
express gratefulness from my heart,
when my end is near,
begin again, at the start.
