Sleep, Angel Sleep
Newborn --- wet, loud,
senior --- old, grey,
foal in the meadow,
captain on the bay.
Death comes, to new, to old,
eternal sleep, nap too long,
our bodies wither, they weaken,
yet spirits mature, grow strong.
Sleep angel, sleep,
no worries anymore,
silence of the crib,
metronome beating shore.
Kyra’s at play,
cradled by God,
her spirit embraced,
we gratefully applaud.
