Winter’s Night
Winter’s night, snow and moonlight
sets the stage for the owl’s love song.
The summer sun, alive with light,
moves me to the warm world outside.
Too many years lay on my back!
A burden that grows heavier.
There is nothing I really lack,
but unfulfilled my life winds down.
Starlight takes more time in travel
than most men are given to live,
leaving mysteries to unravel.
Darkness and light are illusions.
