Kansas!
My father
was born in Kansas,
which is said to be anhydrous.
He called reservoir lakes:
“mud puddle lakes”.
Now , labels are innocuous
and we live on a “mud puddle lake”
which, when the summer people leave,
is beautiful.
It does pose me a nodus!
You see,
we live
on one
of the bends,
of one of the forks,
of what
was the river.
Now, which word:
“bend” or “point”
is lapsus?
Author note: the rhyme pattern is factorial : ie, 2, 3 (2+1),6 (3+2+1) etc….
