Sonnet to a half-growed toad.
This afternoon I saw a half-growed toad,
So I quickly said, “how are you today?”
It was a shock, for to my plain dismay
He asked the way to my present abode.
The pathway to my house I then bestowed
(yes, the situation seemed somewhat faye)
so then my muddled thoughts started to stray
composing briefly a dark choral ode.
It was done, and so was afternoon tea,
When I became aware of a small wart
A-growing upon my bare dimpled knee!
With my conclusion you must all agree
If you meet a grey half-growed toady sort
Make haste, turn and quickly away you flee.
