Autumn Rain
I hear a quiet whisper of
a hiss of rain across the lake.
The grey mist swirling slowly above
Will not keep any awake.
Then, on the point, the hiss is joined
by the patter of rain on leaves.
A restful sound conjoined
Making the sleepy land be pleased.
At last, the rain arrives here.
Soft drumming on the roof joins the song.
Winter now seems more near
And nothing will go wrong.
