The Song Of My Life

There is a feeling I am unable to name
that comes from a place where only raw emotions exist
and words can do no justice.
It is there, where the song of my life will be written;

and in the eyes of my children
I see the birth of all things good
showing me the cycle that surrounds our lives
by finding meaning in all they do;

and in the ground below,
within the body of our mother,
I see the line of my people
extending back through the ages;

and their lives live on in a melody
that brings wisdom to my every thought,
that takes flight in every spark of imagination,
that nourishes me with each breathtaking sight I see;

and I hear their song echoing in the sounds of the forest,
and I see their essence in the windswept fields,
and I feel the touch of their embrace
in the rain that cleanses my skin;

and It is for them, for her,
that we join together in celebration,
we dance to their song,
we give thanks to her;

and the cycle will continue-
one day I will become a part of her,
and my children will dance
to the song of my life.

Wow! "I see the birth of all things good showing me the cycle that surrounds our lives by finding meaning in all they do" —you, my longtime friend, have penned a masterpiece, a classic ... bravo!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
