    Poem Commentary

So, it's Valentine's and naturally everyone has to overflow the poetry rouster with poems 'n crap. Here's mine. I have no clue where I was going with it, I just thought it was clever. Please don't patronize me on how it doesn't make sense if it doesn't make sense to you.

    The Games We People Play

This game of Life is rubble
        So Sorry, and yet Trouble
This weird feeling is a Pictionary of advice

Our loving words are now Taboo
And I'd love to learn to get a Clue
If I'd only apply and try to Break The Ice

Have you Scene It? how I've tried
The Apples to Apple of my eye
It Boggles me to Scrabble to your side

And what do we Connect Four?
It is a Trivial Pursuit I'm sure
But I love you and that's something I can't hide

    Don't Scrutineyes my feelings
        Don't Guess Who is appealing
The Chutes and Ladders we've felt along the way

    This pounding in my Chess
        Why is Anybody's Guess
It will need an Operation to get you to stay

This Mouse Trap as I've seen
        Is a love Monopoly
And my Catchphrase is "Baby, I love you"

Oh the games we people play
That seem to be a big Charade
But I want you to know that mine will always hold true

Incredible piece of writing, and so clever. Love the play on words and using actual game names to put this together. Thoroughly enjoyed it and it has a clear message. Instant 10 from me ;-)

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
