    Poem Commentary

Some poem formats are pretty freeky. I'm not saying that that's necessarily a bad thing, a lot of times it adds to the purpoise and the coolness factor, but sometimes it's an eye sore. Also, I'm just being a jerk and over exaggerating a point. Satire, if you will.

     My teacher once said
                                                              you don't stop
                                   a poem's thoughts
           until you
                      see
                          the punctuation,
      but I find it can
                               be pretty
                           confusing
    without proper                       motivation.
                  Is the new line
          just
                                        for effect
    or
                          is the author
                                                        just a
                                              jerk?
        It seems
                           meaningless
                   and seemingly
                                               a frivolous amount of
                                                    work.
It can, work the, other way,
            'causing worry, stress, and drama.
Makes you, wonder; WHAT THE HEY!?
Why the heck, is that a comma?
      The emotion, sure is gone,
            the purpose, is now lost.
      Your poem
                     may look
                                   pretty cool,
but I wonder, at what cost?

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
