    ONE FAITHFUL DEACON

    Arriving early to prepare the communion elements to be used in worship,
    And routine visits to the sick and elderly, whom unfortunately could not attend.
    He represented the Church with real compassion and steadfast faithfulness.
    No better welcome and invitation could this earthly Church extend,
    For those wondering of the grace and mercy that GOD would freely send.

    To man in pursuit of his fixed soul and a working portion of happiness,
    He serves as your ready Deacon, with the Way, he commits to bring.
    As he goes about his work with prayer, and anointed God-Sent faithfulness,
    His heart is filled with thanksgiving, while he works at pace and sings.

    I love this poem. The commitment that an individual could offer to God is self-rewarding, often disregarded. We attend service, without taking the time to thank those who prepared the chapel, the programs, the water, the offering baskets, etc. May God continue to bless those whose lives are devoted to his glory and earthly kingdom :)) Great Poem Orson!!!
