    SONG OF A BROKEN CHOIR

Debating and struggling to find a note that they all could agree on,

As they murmured and participated in worthless fights among themselves.

Slowly becoming spiritually weak with the chaos they kept.

Allowing an undesired spirit to retire their gift to satan’s shelf.

Notes that the audience anxiously anticipate to hear,

Now muffled by the fighting within, and the selfishness they held.

No Holy Spirit coming to dwell in this place right here,

Just a muffled Song of a Broken Choir, that fought on and failed.

Amazing how I can relate to this so literally! I actually just got out of my church's choir after singing soprano for many years because their was so much hate... as you said, "Notes were muffled by the fighting within & No Holy Spirit could dwell in a place like that.... I'm adding this to my Fav's!

Thank you for commenting on my poem. Although you have gotten out of the choir, please don't loose faith in your gift of singing. God will present you with another opportunity to lift up his name with song. May God bless you richly.

Satan is always around to rob, kill and destroy. It is up to us to control where he is welcome. I love the words of this content. You are indeed a blessing to all of us! Thank you for sharing!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
