    AND JESUS CRACKED THE SKY

Business as usual as they went about their days.
    Focused on earthly task,
As their hands grew tired of such.
In a trickling of an eye,
    The great sky opened up.

    Jesus entered the earth,
    Without notice rendered to those.
    That didn’t realize how much,
    Their soul was truly worth.

    He went about judging all.
    For harvest time had come.
    Man and his timeless fall,
    Even rejected the Son.

Some called up in the Rapture.
    Most destined straight to Hell.
    Salvation available to capture,
    But most prefer to fail.

A good reminder that we all better be prepared. We know not the day or hour. Please check out my poem LOOK OUT FOR THE DEVIL. I'm not spreading the gospel, just trying to show who is really in control by using humor but the fact is none of us can afford to join the wrong team.

I see now the rapture through your eyes. I could happen like this. At least it will be in a blinking (trickling) of the eye. Your sermon is well said.

Thank you for reading this poem. And yes, the rapture could happen like this. The most important theme of this sermon/poem is to be ready when Jesus returns.

I love the messages of your poems. You're spreading the gospel in prose! Excellent! Keep doing what you're doing... time is winding up.

You are so right. My intent is to spread the gospel through poetry and prose. I think there is a different audience that read poetry, than the people that sit on the pews every sunday. I seek to take God's message to those that may not step foot in church.

this well written and is so true

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
