    MORE THAN SUNDAY DINNER

The best tasting meal I ever had,
    Was First Sunday after
    Pleasant Service Past.
    Tasty as it truly was,
    It was fellowship that
    Filled
    My empty belly,
    Stayed and Last.

    Leftovers I took with me
    To Share, and Pass
    To all that
    Came to dine,
    To See, and Be.

    As filling as that Dinner
    Was To Me.
    I become more full
    When others
    Pull up a seat,
    To Taste and See.

We can be filled with food but when we share fellowship in the presense of true believers then we are truly filled.

This poem makes me think of a few things. 1st- How a hungry soul comes in looking to be feed....The Word of God, 2nd- The fellowship with others and sharing what you have with those in need, 3rd- Feeding the 5,000 with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread....How Jesus multiplied and feed many, and 4th- The Lord's Supper...We can all pull up a seat and taste and see! Great Work!

A metaphor compete with food. The Lord feeds us well if we pull up a chair and dive in. This is one of your best.

Yes indeed this poem is a metaphor for the food that the Lord gives us. You read for the subtext in my writings. That is very good. May God continue to bless you.

The word of God is more fulfilling than any home-cooked meal. I take take-home containers to any feast that is served by the Lord in Heaven :)) Great Poem! As usual, you have done an outstanding job! 10 from me-always!

I understand this as a spiratual poem, correct me if I am wrong but i believe what you enjoyed most that sunday was hearing the pleasant scripture. Great Poem!

You are correct in the fact that the scripture, worship experience, and fellowship with other Christians was the spiritual meaning of this poem. Thank you for reading and drawing a meaning from this poem. You should read my poem Modern Day Mouths of Babes

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
