    Letter To The Unchurched




    No Formal Greetings to you Absent
    Brothers and Sisters.
    Just informal, sincere apologies to you all.

    Words Have Hurt, and you took
    A much needed Sabbatical.
    Actions by blinded, insensitive, intolerant,
    Church Goers has caused your journey’s stall.

    Special Christians took a Modern Day Crusade,
    Without taking with them the spirit
    Of Him which sent them out.

    The greatest example of evangelism gone wrong.
    Going on Missions with purpose,
    While leaving results of work that left doubt.

    Common practice in the Mega Churches
    That we create.
    Building buildings that look great,
    While periodically constructing transparent systems of self-hate.

    No Formal Closure to you Absent
    Brothers and Sisters.
    Just informal, sincere apologies to you all.

    You know I read this at just the right time. I was going my skip church Sunday. justifying my planned absense with a flimsy excuse that it was caused by others and in the process punishing only myself. Now I am ashamed. I will go to give the praise and worship to the one who gave me the ability to walk there and forget any petty reason that could keep me away. Amen to such a marvelous reminder of whom we're there for.

    This is excellent writing. The message is so true. So many people have been wounded by church-going Christians who profess to know the Lord, because the love of God was not operating in their lives. It's a shame, but most of us churchgoers are guilty of this at one time or another. I know I've also been a victim of many hurts, neglected, unappreciated, etc. right in the church, so this is refreshing to read. Definitely a good word to pass along to the churches.
