    Poem Commentary

yet another i wrote for my lover as she and i grew closer again after so many years apart. this one was written before we knew that things were going to be the way we wanted them to be.

    Undaunted

In this time I wait for you,
I fear I may lose you again.
I think of the years we have lost
and the life that could have been,
    We both are much older;
time has taught us many things.
But the one thing I rebuffed,
    tried to sever all strings,
    has appeared again with fervor
and I try to respond with tact.
Then I hear the voice I love,
and my heart starts to react.
I see your face inside my mind,
every second, every minute, every hour.
And still to me your beauty
    outshines the most radiant flower.
My love for you is undaunted,
and it will be for all time.
    It's the one thing I won't allow
    to diminish or become sublime.
If we are never together again,
I don't get to grow old with you,
    just remember I'll always cherish
the short lifetime I spent loving you.

forever in my heart, eternity in my soul...

You express your emotions with such candor and grace, that while reading this, I could not help but remember lost loves from my past as well. A second chance at "the one who got away", is a rare treat. Feast my friend! 10 from me

This is beautiful and please don't fear what you think you may lose for you already have what some people spend a life time searching for...I am very happy for you my new found friend and his "Jen"...

A beautiful love letter written from what sounds like the fullness of your heart. Deep message and delivery with style.

well from the way things are going, it seems like that is a shoe-in. thanks again for the praise, dear

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
